The Washington Conservation Guild (WCG) is pleased to announce the
recent debut of its World Wide Web site. The site joins several
others hosted by Conservation OnLine (CoOL) and is accessible via
CoOL's main page <URL:http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/> or directly
at <URL:http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/wcg/>. It is divided into
two main sections, one intended primarily for conservation
professionals in the Washington, D.C. area, and the other for use by
the general public. Included in the professionals' section are
up-to-date announcements of upcoming WCG meetings (normally held the
first Thursday of the month, October through May) and other
professional activities in Washington, Maryland, and northern
Virginia. Also included are electronic editions of WCG's quarterly
Newsletter, as well as details about joining and participating in
the organization. The public's section contains articles describing
conservation and how to find a conservator, as well as specifics
about conservation-related events in the Washington area, including
WCG's own public outreach activities.
