Department of Information and Library Studies, Loughborough University, Loughborough, LEICS LE11 3TU, England Research Assistant The Department of Information and Library Studies at Loughborough University requires a Research Assistant to work on a project funded by the British Library Research and Innovation Centre (BLRIC). This is a nine months post investigating the development of co-operative preservation activities in libraries and archives. Working under the direction of Paul Eden, the appointee will carry out case studies and interviews, organise a discussion seminar and report on the findings. Candidates should have research experience and must be graduates, ideally with a first degree or postgraduate/professional qualification in library and information studies or archives. The ability to work with minimum supervision is essential, as are good communication, writing and word-processing skills and a willingness to travel within the UK (although based in Loughborough). Knowledge of, or an interest in, preservation in libraries or archives is desirable.
