Research Assistant

The Department of Information and Library Studies at Loughborough University
requires a Research Assistant to work on a project funded by the British
Library Research and Innovation Centre (BLRIC). This is a nine months post
investigating the development of co-operative preservation activities in
libraries and archives. Working under the direction of Paul Eden, the
appointee will carry out case studies and interviews, organise a discussion
seminar and report on the findings. Candidates should have research
experience and must be graduates, ideally with a first degree or
postgraduate/professional qualification in library and information studies
or archives. The ability to work with minimum supervision is essential, as
are good communication, writing and word-processing skills and a willingness
to travel within the UK (although based in Loughborough). Knowledge of, or
an interest in, preservation in libraries or archives is desirable. Further
