Responsibilities: Provides the technical, archival, and reformatting
skills required to preserve and provide rapid, flexible access to an
out-standing research collection. Responsible for: coordination of
document conservation, workflow scheduling, outsourcing material for
conversion, quality control coordination. Conducts name and date
indexing and hypertext marking of the collection for placement on
the World Wide Web. Responsible for general supervision of this
two-year reformatting project. Works under the direction of the
Heads of the Preservation department and the Archives & Special
Collections department.

Qualifications:
Required: MLS or MA/MS in Archival Studies or History, or graduate
or undergraduate degree in computer science or instructional
technology with experience. Candidates should have the ability to
organize and manage workflow, and also possess strong oral and
written communication skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of and experience with digitization procedures,
Web development and HTML editing, familiarity with microfilming
procedures and preservation methods.

Salary: $28,634-$33,222

Benefits: Includes 22 vacation days/year; 15 days sick leave; health
and vision; prescription drug plan; state retirement system, and
tuition remission for spouse and children. All librarians are on
administrative contract.

The Ohio University Libraries contain over 2
million volumes, periodical & microform collections. The Library
employs 110 FTE, 40 of whom are professionals. Ohio University
Libraries is a member of the Association of Research Libraries. Ohio
University is a state-assisted residential Research II university
located in the scenic Appalachian foothills 75 miles southeast of
Columbus. Chartered in 1804, it is the oldest university in the
Northwest Territory. The 19,500 students on the Athens campus enroll
in numerous departments that offer degrees from the Associate to the
Ph.D. level.
