Symposium on insect pest control in museums

The 3rd Nordic Symposium on Insect Pest Control in Museums
September 24 - 25, 1998

The Swedish working group PRE-MAL (Pest Research and
Education--Museums Archives and Libraries) in co-operation with
ICOM--the Swedish National Committee, will arrange "The 3rd Nordic
Symposium on Insect Pest Control in Museums" September 24 - 25, 1998.

The symposium will be held at the Swedish Museum of Natural History,
Stockholm, Sweden About 20 speakers, mostly from the Nordic
countries, will present their research. Special guest speakers are
Tom Strang, CCI, Ottawa, Canada and David Pinniger, Cookham, Berks,
UK. The symposium will emphasise non chemical pest control
strategies as freezing, heat treatment, low oxygen and pheromones.
September 26 a workshop on "Low Oxygen as a Pest Control Method"
will be arranged.
