The Foundation National Photographic Conservation Studios in Rotterdam has
taken up the responsibility for the care and conservation of the Netherlands
Photographic Cultural Property. Our clients are State-, Provincial- and
City- Museums and Archives as well as private collectors and company
archives. Our main field of activities are:

    *   the preservation and/or conservation of prints
    *   the duplication of historical negative archives
    *   advise on collection management to the above institutions.

We are working mainly in the field on black & white photography.

Certified Conservator Photographic Materials

Requested qualifications:

    *   university MA or similar level diploma specialisation:
        conservator paper  photography

    *   sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the history of
        photography

    *   sound theoretical and practical knowledge of sensitometry /
        densitometry

    *   sound theoretical and practical knowledge of paper and book
        conservation

    *   research experience and practice in the field of
        photography/paper

Requested experience:

    *   practical experience as a qualified photographic conservator
        for at least one year

    *   practical experience in making long term programs for
        preservation and conservation

    *   practical experience in active conservation of photography
        "wet & dry" processes

    *   practical experience in the dark room and in developing b&w
        films

    *   practical experience in the maintenance of conservation
        tools and materials

    *   practical experience in expression in word and report in
        English, and French or German

Requested profile:

    *   affinity with historical photography and interest in
        historical photographic processes

    *   affinity with bookbinding methods and related relevant book
        and paper conservation

    *   being able to work independent, being able to analyse, and
        make hypotheses

    *   being creative and take initiative in solving problems in a
        practical way

    *   being flexible, accurate and hygienic in the workfield with a
        lot of patience...
