We specialize in the conservation of historic gravestones and yes, I
believe all the techniques and approaches in said document are
grossly inappropriate.

Initial testing of "Roundup" weed killer applied to limestones
indicates extreme damage to the limestone. The Association for
Gravestone Studies has publications available  with directions for
simple cleaning...

I do not believe there are any successful consolidants for limestones
and marbles...but there might be some developments in the near
future. We welcome any other questions
