The NARA Annual Preservation Conferences cover topics on the
creation, use, exhibition, care and handling, duplication, and long
term storage of information on paper, film, tape, and disk. The
March 26, 1998, conference will focus on new technologies for
preserving exhibitions.

     National Standards for Exhibitions
     Preservation in the Curatorial Planning Process
     New Research on the Impact of Lighting Levels
     A Look at the Future of Lighting Design and Monitoring
     Recent Advances in Microenvironmental Control of Exhibit Cases
     New Technologies for Facsimile Production
     Expert Panel on New Technologies

The conference will focus on new technologies and preservation
aspects of exhibits. Speakers will address the issues of standards,
responsibilities, limitations, controls, alternatives, and
materials. "Preserving Exhibitions" will include hints, tips and
models on how to create exhibits that meet preservation standards,
including an on-line digital exhibit.
