I wonder if anyone knows anything specifically about the composition of these adhesives (Norbond Liquid Plastic Adhesive, Lokite and J-lar tape), or since they are likely patented privately owned solutions, can at least make an educated guess about them? Issues over the efficacy of the adhesive used on such labels (especially computer printing labels often used by circulating libraries) come up on a regular basis on this forum and elsewhere. Clearly, the situation is one of compromise--no product seems completely satisfactory to all parties--its always a matter of the lesser of evils.
