Adhering spine labels

Our cataloging department at Colgate has been using Norbond Liquid
Plastic Adhesive to attach computer generated spine labels to our
library books. This product is fine to use but the labels tend to
fade or get abraded. Many of the corners lift and the labels are
easy to peel off or simply fall off. They would like to know if
there is another product people have used that works better. If
there is another type of label that people have been very happy with
they might be interested in that as well. Long ago the Se-lin
machine was rejected so that is not an option.
