Senior Conservator Preservation Services Library and Information Service of Western Australia Level 5 Salary: $42,282 - $46,730 Qualifications and Experience: A degree in materials conservation or equivalent comprehensive experience in the field; demonstrated knowledge and skills in the conservation and restoration of paper-based library materials; demonstrated ability to identify client needs and expectations, provide flexible and responsive service, use methods and technology to enhance service delivery, show initiative and apply new concepts, set and maintain workflow patterns and throughput of work, and provide effective solutions to conservation problems. Duties: Provides advice and support for staff and clients; recommends and establishes appropriate conservation procedures and methodologies and monitors and revises existing techniques; coordinates and monitors the activities of the Preservation Services team in undertaking conservation and related tasks, and ensures the fulfilment of performance measures; surveys LISWA collections to determine their condition, identify preservation needs, and recommends options to be pursued; provides raining to staff and clients.
