Due to new projects, NIKU (Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research), announce positions for Conservators/Researchers These positions are connected to the conservation section of the department of objects and buildings, who carry out on basis of applied research conservation of a whole range of different types of cultural monuments and objects. The main task of the conservation section involves the particular conservation of painted and decorated surfaces on wood, canvas, paper, stone and walls, both on interiors, exteriors and on various art objects. Riksantikvaren ( Directorate for Cultural Heritage ) is our principle employer. Positions are based at NIKU head office, Dronningensgt. 13 in Oslo.The conservation section needs to expand both its capacity and expertise, therefore they seek conservators/researchers in the field of painting, monumental art, paper and cultural historic objects. The applicant must posses : * a recognised training qualification or relevant experience * the ability to co-operate and work independently and efficiently * a knowledge of the Norwegian language or a willingness to learn We offer : * salary as a conservator/researcher between pay scale 29-45 (217,000-285,800 Nok--around L20,000-L26,000, at current exchange rates) depending on knowledge and experience * personal research possibilities depending on qualifications * the possibility to apply for research tasks through our strategic institute programme * work on-site and studio based work * membership for the Norwegian state pension fund and national insurance * a friendly and exciting working environment Further information about the positions are available from Mille Stein, Head of Conservation +47 22 94 03 00.
