Internship at Canadian Centre for Architecture

The Conservation/Preservation Department of the Canadian Centre for
Architecture is pleased to announce a twelve-month internship in
paper conservation funded by an award from the Getty Grant Program.

The intern will be involved in the preparation of examination
reports, treatment proposals, treatment reports and in the
conservation treatment of works from the collections at the CCA in
connection with its exhibition and loan-related activities.  An
integral part of the internship will be a research project on
architectural photo-reproduction processes using the collection
material at the CCA as a basis for the research.  The intern will be
encouraged to attend conferences, participate in training seminars
and visit institutions connected to his/her research.

Candidates will be considered who are recent graduates (maximum
three years since graduation) of a recognized conservation training
programme. Particular interest in and/or experience with
architectural photo-reproduction processes is an asset as is
knowledge of both French and English.

Application Procedure

Applications for the internship should include the following material:

    Curriculum vitae
    Three letters of recommendation from conservation professionals
    familiar with the applicant's work
    Letter of application indicating applicant's interest and intent
    in applying for the internship.

If necessary, candidates selected by jury will be interviewed before
a committee of museum and conservation specialists.  These
candidates may be asked to submit a portfolio of conservation
projects.
