Lectureship in Archaeological Conservation, University College London Applications are invited for a thirty-month appointment to develop the teaching of practical conservation in the Institute of Archaeology's new MSc programme in Conservation for Archaeology and Museums, with the possibility of extension for another six months. Applicants should have a degree or similar qualification in conservation, and several years' experience in a museum or similar institution. They should be skilled in both preventive and remedial conservation of a wide range of archaeological and ethnographic artifacts, and they should have a proven record in research. The successful candidate will be expected to take overall responsibility for the teaching of conservation practical work, together with the day-to-day running of the labs and stores, and to establish a programme of research into conservation materials and techniques. Salary will be on the Lecturer scale, in the range GBP 16,045-27,985 plus London weighting of GBP 2,134, depending on age and experience. Further details of the post can be obtained from: Mrs B.
