In response to your question about reducing soluble salts on
Lekythoi, one might try poulticing with de-ionized water on the
interior. The shape of the neck and interior surfaces would require
use of a fiber-optic light and some agility, while some like the
"Macmillan Lekythos" might prove too taxing.  An added problem would
be the effect such treatment might have on residues on the interior,
although the paper used in poultices could be analyzed later.
Oil-flasks might not be a consideration while perfume-flasks would.
