Conservator National research centre for paleostudies and conservation Museum of Archaeology, Stavanger is recruiting for a conservator to be working with us for one year. There is the possibility to prolong the contract after the first year. Start can earliest be made from September 97. The museum is reorganizing its storerooms, and in the process, conservation of many objects from the collections will be executed. Duties will include conservation and reconservation of archaeological objects with an emphasise on metals, from the existing collections. The conservator will work closely with an archaeologist in order to identify and evaluate the objects. Qualifications: A degree in conservation with archaeology as main subject from a recognized graduate training programme. An experienced person in the conservation of metals will be preferred. The conservator must exhibit good skills in English or a Scandinavian language. Salary will depend upon qualifications and experience, and will be in the range of NOK 167.531-239-600 a year.
