Subject: PARS Cooperative Preservation Programs Discussion Group agenda
The Cooperative Preservation Programs Discussion Group will meet on Friday, 27 June from 9:30-12:30 in the Yorkshire Room of the Westin St. Francis Hotel. George Farr (Division of Preservation and Access, NEH) will announce the latest round of NEH grant awards, and also discuss the NEH's involvement in the development and publication and the National Task Force on Emergency Response's Disaster Recovery Wheel. A Task Force representative will then discuss the Cooperative Preservation Programs role in disseminating the wheel and in serving as an information resource. Christine Wiseman (SOLINET) and Steve Smith (AMIGOS) will discuss the Regional Alliance for Preservation - a new initiative involving the AMIGOS, CCAHA, National Park Services, NEDCC, SOLINET, and the Upper Midwest Conservation Association facilitated by the Commission on Preservation and Access - publication and web site. Jeanne Drewes (Johns Hopkins) will discuss a proposal for distance education on preservation via the Internet and World Wide Web. Richard Boyden (NARA-Pacific Region & BAPNet Chair) will discuss recent activities of the Bay Area Preservation Network. The session will end with a round-robin where representatives from each cooperative program can discuss recent activities and distribute their latest publications and educational materials. Steven D.
