US $4000 For Your Favourite Journalist?
ICCROM International Award--Media Save Art

Would you like acknowledge a particularly good article on
conservation, or encourage a journalist you know to continue
coverage of conservation topics?

ICCROM is helping conservation obtain greater attention in the
media, by organizing the International Award MEDIA SAVE ART.  The
competition includes a "newspaper" and a "magazine" category, each
to be awarded with a US$4000 prize.

Deadline for submissions is 1 August, 1997.  Articles must be from
publications with a minimum circulation of 20,000 copies, and can
deal with any theme of safeguarding cultural heritage
(deterioration, preservation, conservation, restoration, public
debate) of any type of heritage material, site or monument.

ICCROM welcomes suggestions for entries in the competition.  For
