Subject: PADI web site--addendum
Are you fed up with finding in excess of 10 000 pages of information on the Web dealing with preservation--with everything from making jam to the Sistine Chapel? Now the PADI working group offers a new service for all wishing to safeguard their investment in digital information. The 'What's happening?' page <URL:http://www.nla.gov.au/dnc/tf2001/padi/happen.html> on the PADI Web site provides current information on what is happening in the world of digital preservation and access. Entries include Web links and brief descriptions of each linked resource. We value your contributions--please submit information about your own projects or links to the latest developments, conferences and news items related to the preservation and access of digital information by contacting us at: niac<-a t->nla< . >gov< . >au. An integrated search facility will soon be available to assist readers to locate relevant information on the PADI site and some other important preservation resources. PADI is a collaboration between Australian Archives, Australian Council of Libraries and Information Services, Australian Information Industry Association Ltd, Department of Communications and the Arts, National Film and Sound Archive, National Gallery of Australia, National Library of Australia, National Museum of Australia and Starlit CMC. It aims to provide comprehensive information on managing your digital collection to ensure continuing access.
