Summer Conservation Internship at Harvard University The Baker Library in the Harvard Business School is offering a 12-week internship in paper conservation beginning in Summer 1997. The program will be administered by the Harvard University Library Preservation Center under the supervision of the senior paper conservator. The intern will survey, rehouse, and treat a variety of materials, including manuscripts, pamphlets, broadsides, maps, and prints drawn from several special collections. Baker Library holds one of the world's pre-eminent collections of historical materials on business history and economic theory and history. The intern will be working alongside other technicians and interns in a busy university environment. Required education, experience, skills: bachelor's degree, previous conservation experience, excellent hand skills. Experience with word processing and database management software desired. A stipend of $1,500 is offered, a free dormitory room on the Harvard Business School campus (a 10-minute walk from the Preservation Center), and travel expenses to Harvard and return (up to $1,000).
