Re: Terry Belanger's request for info. on board shear sharpening I would only like to caution anyone who hasn't had their board shears serviced previously: It's probably a good idea to have the scissor-plate sharpened as well. That is, the stationary cutting edge affixed to the table. This usually consists of a long steel bar, often inset, the edge of which is carefully honed at a ninety degree angle and dead straight when screwed or bolted down in position. Some table model cutters have scissor-plates which are finished at an acute angle, like the Kutrimmer, but as far as I know, all heavy-duty shears have the kind of scissor-plate described above.
