Chained books to shelves proved an effective security measure for
300 years so why not chain audiocassettes, CD-ROMs, computer disks
and other "pocket" materials? Please join us in a lively discussion
about what to do with these difficult to handle materials. A panel
of five librarians has been invited by CAPNet to begin a discussion
on the topic of pocket materials. Come and join the forum and learn
how the mission of a library can affect the way accompanying
materials are cataloged, stored and circulated. See samples of
various enclosures that can be used. Bring your lunch or use the LC
cafeteria and join in the debate about long term preservation issues
and their possible solutions.
