Textile Conservator (one year contract) at the Blickling Textile
Conservation Studio,  Blickling Hall,  Norfolk,  UK.

The National Trust is Europe's leading conservation charity, and its
textile collections are of outstanding importance.  The Trust has
its own Textile Conservation Studio located at the beautifully
situated Blickling Hall in Norfolk.

There is a vacancy for a textile conservator for a period of one
year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Applicants
must have a recognised qualification in textile conservation or have
completed an approved apprenticeship.  Some experience in tapestry
conservation would be an advantage.    A current driving licence is
essential. The successful candidate is ideally expected to take up
the post in September 1997.    The closing date for completed
applications is 20 June, and the interview date will be 11 July.
Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their right to
employment in the EC.  The salary offered is (pounds sterling)
13,970.
