The Virginia Conservation Association(VCA) will be presenting a workshop for professionals involved in the treatment of paintings, wooden artifacts and other surface-coated objects. Conducted by Richard C. Wolbers, Paintings Conservator at the University of Delaware's Program in Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, the five day course will instruct participants in the methods of examination, analysis and treatment design that Mr. Wolbers has pioneered. The course is scheduled for August 18-22, 1997 and is to be held at the new DeWitt Wallace Collections and Conservation Building located on Colonial Williamsburg's Bruton Heights School Education Campus. Class size will be limited to twenty participants. Though advance registration has been available to members of VCA, a number of spaces are still available. The cost of the course will be $380 with $190 due upon application and the balance of $ 190 due by May 30, 1997. Information regarding lodging and transportation is also available. The course will require a significant amount of preparation and participants will receive a list of recommended readings prior to the course.
