Subject: Presentation on library preservation
On Friday, May 2, the Western New York Library Resources Council's Preservation Committee will present a double feature workshop entitled "Disasters in the Stacks" hosted by the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society. In the morning, James Burd, President of Preservation Technologies, will discuss the problems of acidity in paper and possible solutions, with an emphasis on new mass deacidification technologies. In the afternoon, Jim Brown, a representative from Munters, a disaster recovery service, will give a presentation on disaster recovery. The workshop is free but registration is required.
