Subject: Workshop on Integrated Pest Management
Workshop for Pacific Countries on "Integrated Pest Management", Suva, Fiji, July 7-11, 1997. The Australian Museum and the Fiji Museum have designed this course to train museum, library, and archive personnel from Pacific countries to handle their insect pest problems. Both chemical and non-chemical alternatives will be discussed. The emphasis of the course will be to train personnel working in Pacific Museums to solve their insect problems using practical, affordable, and available alternatives. The course will emphasise use of safe, non-toxic alternatives wherever applicable. This course is the third of the PREMO 1994-1998 program to preserve pacific island heritage. The course has been made possible through a generous sponsorship from the Australian High Commission at Fiji and substantial funding from the UNESCO Apia Office to support regional participants to attend.
