Subject: Award for preservation articles
Media Save Art Award, Press Competition A press competition has been launched for articles dealing with preservation of cultural heritage and intended for the general public. The competition is organized by ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, created by UNESCO). A US $4,000 prize will be awarded to the author of the best article in each category: Newspaper or Magazine. All articles submitted must: 1. be published between 1st July 1996 and 30 June 1997 in a newspaper or magazine with a circulation of at least 20,000 copies; 2. deal with the theme of safeguarding cultural heritage (deterioration, preservation, conservation and restoration). Cultural heritage is understood in this sense: museums, archives, libraries, monuments, historic and archaeological sites; 3. be intended to the general public. Articles published in the specialized press are not eligible; 4. be submitted in 3 original copies with a translation into English or French, if not written in one of these languages, and reach not later than 31 July 1997 the address below: ICCROM - Media Save Art Attn.
