He is the retired chief executive officer of the international advertising and communications firm Foote, Cone & Belding Communications * a presentation on fund-raising fundamentals by Fisher Howe, partner, Lavender/Howe & Associates, a Washington, D.C. fund raising and management consulting firm for nonprofit organizations * steps for creating a strategic plan to raise money for collections care by Pamela R. Seay, assistant director for development and public affairs, Virginia Historical Society * tips for making a grant application stand out by Sharon Casale, grants coordinator for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts * how to use federally funded surveys as building blocks for fund raising by Malinda Collier, director of collections, Museum of the Confederacy * how a small university museum secured funding to improve the care and conservation of its collection by Jeanne Zeidler, director, Hampton University Museum The workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The $50 fee covers registration, lunch, breaks and informational materials.
