Research Assistant Loughborough University Department of Information and Library Studies 14,732 - 316,450 Pounds Required to start as early as possible in May/June 1997 for a 15 month British Library Research and Innovation Centre funded research project, investigating collection condition surveys for preservation in libraries and archives. Working as a member of the Project Team, you will undertake case study interviews, carry out pilot surveys, write reports and help to produce a collection survey model for use in libraries and archives. Candidates should have research experience and must be graduates, ideally with a first degree or postgraduate/other professional qualification in library and information studies, archives or conservation. Good communication and writing skills, and a willingness to travel (although you will be based in Loughborough) are essential. Candidates should also have word-processing skills and experience of survey techniques and computer-based analysis of data. Knowledge of, or an interest in, preservation and the conservation of library and archival materials is desirable.
