The Midwest Regional Conservation Guild spring meeting will be held soon (April 5-6, 1997 with reception on Friday evening, April 4, 1997) at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Speakers and topics include Forrest Bailey on disasters, Julie Reilly on the new Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center, Richard Baker on a Roycroft binding treatment, Nancy Heugh on 3-D paper poster treatments, Nicola Longford on brass mats used in cased photographs, Marianne Russell-Marti on cleaning outdoor bronzes, Kate Garland on "Fakes and Forgeries," Randall Ash on paintings treatments, an insitu tour of glass fiber optics in the museum with Gersil Kay, and tips session. The conservation facilities at the museum and Heugh-Edmondson Conservation Services will be open for viewing. Registration is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.
