Nonionic detergents

Can anyone suggest a means of detecting whether a nonionic detergent
has been completely rinsed from a water solution. This enquiry is
placed on behalf of a textile conservator not on the list who wishes
to conduct the test to ensure no trace of the nonionic detergent
remains after cleansing.
