Subject: Packing wet books
I have used both milk crates and cardboard boxes. Personally, I fine milk crates to be much easier to use although the cardboard ones were satisfactory. One other advantage to using the milk crates is that they are of a uniform size that limits the amount of materials that you can put into them. This has major implications for being able to move the materials. Unfortunately, I think that many of us have heard of people who have grabbed any box available only to find that they could not lift it to move it because of its weight. One major drawback of milk crates, however, is the problem of storage since they take up as much room when being stored as when being used. One option that has not been mentioned is ProText's RESCUBE. For those who are not familiar with this, it is a one cubic foot box of high density polyethylene that folds flat when not in use. It has a double bottom when assembled and also has holes for ventilation.
