Archival Quality Digital Prints Research Studentship The London Institute Camberwell College of Arts School of Art History and Conservation Job Description: A full time post graduate studentship researching archival quality materials in digital printmaking. The successful candidate will be expected to: 1. Examine and collate existing research into archival quality in printed media. 2. Establish longevity of inks, dyes and papers with respect to established criteria of archival quality e.g. the blue wool test. 3. Collaborate with relevant digital print companies, paper manufacturers and ink developers in exploring ways of working towards higher quality output. The research student will work within the conservation department at Camberwell College of Arts and will closely collaborate with the existing research project The integration of computers, printmaking and print technology. He/she will be expected to register for an MPhil research degree. This studentship will be suitable to candidates with a background in paper and/or printing science. A sympathetic interest in the needs of fine artists working in this field would be an advantage and familiarity with relevant laboratory techniques will be essential.
