Symposium on archaeological conservation

The Middle Eastern Culture Center in Japan (MECCJ) will sponsor a
two day symposium for archaeological conservators working in Turkey.
The symposium will be held at the Kaman Kalehoyuk excavation site in
central Anatolia, on June 28-29, 1997.  The symposium format will be
a round-table discussion on a number of issues relevant to field
conservation in Turkey.  Because of limited space, participants must
be actively engaged as conservators on archaeological sites in
Turkey.  Although there is no registration fee, transportation will
