I seem to recall that at least one vendor offering vacuum freeze
drying wanted items packed in paper boxes because at some point in
the drying process the boxes were split open.  Whether or not this
is the case, the main point is to contact such vendors *in advance*
of your disaster (part of disaster planning) so that such
information is part of your plan, and readily available.
