Subject: PARS Discussion group/reporting session
The PARS Discussion Group/Reporting Session Sunday, February 16, 9:00-11:00 am J.W. Marriott Hotel, Justice Room. The topic is "Preservation at Work: physical facilities for conservation and reformatting programs," featuring slides of old and new preservation work spaces at academic, government, and public libraries, and at conservation centers. Featured are the new book conservation unit at the National Library of Medicine, the Disaster response cage at the National Library of Medicine, the Case Western Reserve University Preservation Department (completed 1996), Cleveland Public Library Preservation facilities (1994), Oberlin College preservation department, Northeast Document Conservation Center facilities, and new Preservation Technologies (BookKeeper)deacidification facility in Cranberry, PA. Anyone attending is welcome to bring slides to share. The reporting session will follow the discussion and is open for general announcements. A representative from IFLA/PAC will make a report.
