From: David Terry <dterry<-a>
Date: Thursday, February 6, 1997
Due to the response for the first workshop, we will be offering
another book repair workshop on Saturday, April 26. All other info
remains the same... the March 7 workshop is full.

Introduction to Book Repair
Saturday April 26, 1997
Austin, Texas

Sponsored by The University of Texas at Austin, Graduate School of
Library and Information Science

This full day workshop is intended to introduce participants to the
variety of considerations which are necessary to undertake in an
on-site book repair operation. They will have the opportunity to
practice a number of basic hands-on book repair techniques, and
discuss which options may be best suited to the particular needs of
their institution, collections and users. Participants will be
furnished with a list of suppliers, catalogs, and a small
preservation tool kit ($45 value) to take with them.

This seminar is a introductory hands-on workshop aimed at
librarians, archivists, and staff who have an interest in learning
the nuts and bolts of book repair.
