PARS Reformatting Discussion Group

The ALA Midwinter meeting for the PARS Reformatting Discussion Group
will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel  Franklin Park A on Saturday,
February 15, 11:00am-1:00pm.  The discussion  will be centered
around selecting  for digital imaging .  To help focus the
discussion we will look back at the debate between  Use Based and
Collection Based Selection that has taken place as a criteria for
selecting material for  microfilming.  Joy Paulson from the
University of Michigan Library and Becky Ryder from the University
of Kentucky Library will review  the literature.  The Reformatting
Discussion Group replaces the Electronic Imaging Discussion Group
and the Preservation Microfilming Discussion Group.
