At the ALA Midwinter meeting  in Washington, D.C., the PARS
Preservation Course & Workshop Instructors Discussion Group will
meet on Saturday, February 15, from 12 - 2 p.m. in the Washington
Board Room of the Grand Hyatt Hotel

Discussion will be an open mike tips session, focusing on
full-semester academic preservation courses. Members of the group
are invited to share, briefly, techniques, assignments, exam
questions, readings, or other nuggets that they have found
successful when teaching classes on library preservation. Of special
interest is how to present issues concerning the preservation of
digital records. Active audience participation is anticipated; bring
your favorite tips or your worst nightmares. If you wish to
supplement a tip with a handout, bring 30 copies or send a master in
advance to the discussion group chair (contact Shannon Zachary at
