Corrosion of chromium plated tubular steel

Has any one had any experience or know of any articles or
information that is available regarding the corrosion problems with
Chromium Plated Tubular Steel.  I am especially interested in its
application to furniture.

I have done some preliminary research on the materials and
techniques but I cannot seem to find anything published on
examination and treatment of this type of furniture. I would be most
grateful for any first hand experience or known publications. Thank
