Subject: Mold on sound recordings
A collection of vinyl LPs were improperly stored for some time. Their owner has moved them to a more suitable environment, but has found that small specks of mould growth are making some of them unplayable. These are probably dormant remains of growth from the previous store. What is the best method of cleaning spores etc. from the grooves of an LP without damage to the grooves? Are they likely to recover? Debby Rohan Cambridge, UK *** Conservation DistList Instance 10:62 Distributed: Friday, January 10, 1997 Message Id: cdl-10-62-016 ***Received on Friday, 10 January, 1997
