North Adams State College, in the Massachusetts Berkshires Mountains
will be holding four one-week workshop/seminars in violin repair.
These programs will be taught by the internationally known master
craftsman and violin restorer, Hans J. Nebel. The cost for each
week-long program will be $510.  College townhouse apartments (with
kitchens) are available for $100 per-person, per-week. Food will be
available (Monday-Friday) for an additional $125.  Call 413-662-5543
for a special multi-program discount.

    June 9-13: Introduction to proper violin set-up (including minor
    exterior repairs)

    June 16-20: Introduction to interior violin repair (including
    graduation, fitting bass bar and also include new fingerboard
    and reshaping of neck)

    June 23-27: Workshop in advanced violin repair: fitting of
    patches (including: making molds, correcting misshapen arching,
    fitting soundpost patch, acoustical or reinforcement patches)

    June 30-July 4: Workshop in advanced violin repair:  retouching
    of varnish, including filling of cracks

    Due to overwhelming request, last year's program Retouching of
    Varnish, including filling of cracks will be offered again this
    year.
