The Amon Carter Museum invites applications for the position of
Collections Preparator in the Installation and Preparation Services
department.  The Preparator will assist with preparation and maintenance
of the permanent collection, special collections, and special
exhibitions.  Position requires BFA or MLS with specialization in
preservation or equivalent combination of relevant education and
experience; three years art museum or special collections experience
preferred; knowledge of accepted preservation and storage procedures and
storage procedures.  Characteristic duties include matting and framing
works of art in permanent collection, assisting with installation,
receiving, shipping, and general handling of works of art, performing
tasks related to preservation including containers for books and works
of art, as well as minor binding and repair on books and special
collections materials.

The Amon Carter Museum houses a premier collection of American
paintings, sculpture, prints, and drawings in addition to one of the
foremost collections of American photographs, numbering over 350,000
objects.  The Museum library of 30,000 volumes provides research
material for members of the Museum staff and other qualified
researchers.  The Museums's newly-established archives includes the
papers of several notable 20th-century American photographers,
including Eliot Porter and Laura Gilpin.
