Walter: About Wei T'o and/or "deacidification solution" you refer to in
note to C. L. Payne, What specifically does "roll your own" mean? Can
you give the formula(s)?

Thanks. Joan ten Hoor, Newberry Library

See Library of Congress Publications on Conservation of Library
Materials Conservation Workshop Notes on Evolving Procedures, Series
    500, no. 2 Deacidification -- Methyl Magnesium Carbonate Non-Aqueous
    Treatment. Working Draft, July 1877

This was widely distributed at workshops around the country. I
would imagine it is still available. If not, get back to me. Before
you get excited, though, check out the price of 1,1,2
trichloro-1,2,2 trifluoroethane: $112/4L from Fisher. Still want
    to roll your own?
