Subject: Intra-library shipping
I am interested in any ideas, experiences, suggestions, printed guidelines, or anything related to how other institutions are shipping books between a central and *local* departmental or branch libraries. When basic functions (e.g., acquisitions, cataloging, commercial binding, repair, etc.) are centralized, masses of material are moved almost daily with many preservation implications. I am particularly interested in any guidelines for packing and the kinds of packing materials used. Thank you in advance.
