Re: [AV Media Matters] Sticky tape- the other kind

Do NOT use acetone!!! It will attack most solvent-based plastics. The
solvents suitable for film cleaning should work well to remove adhesive.

Kodak has a list of film-cleaning solvents on-line:

Naphtha (lighter fluid) will usually work very well, but of course is
very
flammable.

Can anyone suggest a solvent to remove the adhesive residue left by
clear
Scotch tape from the plastic used to make the floppy thin red Edison
dictation diamond discs?

I'm concerned that acetone, which usually gets it off, may also destroy
the disc surface itself.
