Thomson, Paris made a system which took in timecode, video, sound and the
'drop out' pulse from the dub connector of an SP.
This machine measures video and audio levels, reads LTC and VITC, checks
audio phase, detects black and colour bars/tone etc. and gives a range of
options for logging levels and faults and drop outs against time code.
It works well and has its place in our archive service.

I am not sure whether it is still sold.
It obviously does a different job from the RTI system - to some
extent they complement each other.
