Re: [ARSCLIST] What is this, and how do you play it ?

You center it very, very carefully..! Aretino was one of those small labels in the 1910s (?) derived from deleted Columbias, and designed to play only on the Aretino machine which had a ridiculously large spindle that of course couldn't play normal records.

A number of Aretino discs source from Zonophone or Leeds & Catlin and not Columbia.

As far as I can tell, all Columbia-sourced Aretinos are double-sided. Some double-sided Aretinos are Leeds & Catlin, though. I don't think I've seen a double-sided Zonohone-sourced Aretino.

In my experience, the single-sided Zonophone Aretinos are the most uncommon, although I find the Leeds & Catlin pressings to be the most interesting.
