Re: [ARSCLIST] George Bernard Shaw recording

Hi Don:

Thank you very much for this information.

Alas, it's apparently out of print.

That's too bad.

Catalog number? Searching "Writers and Poets" or EMI writers poets on
Amazon yields nothing.

Catalogue number 077778 97882 4

Writers on the three (not 2 as I said) CDs are:

James Agate
James Joyce
A E W Mason
A A Milne
J B Priestley
Bernard Shaw
J R R Tolkien (in a sample dialogue on a Linguaphone disc, not reading
his work)
Edgar Wallace
Rebecca West
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Cecil Day Lewis
Walter de la Mare
Stephen Spender
Virginia Woolf
T S Eliot
Sir Henry Newbolt
Vita Sackville West
Leo Tolstoy
W B Yeats

George Bernard Shaw made a 2-disk 78 set in 1927 as part of the
Linguaphone series called "Spoken English and Broken English." Kurt
Nauck had a copy up for auction:

of this lot:

Was this album ever released in a modern format, either an LP or CD?

Yes, it is on the EMI 2-CD set "Writers and Poets", released in 1994.
