Re: [ARSCLIST] New CD -VIctor Herbert cylinders

While mastering of the cylinders is our part of the project, the
production and marketing are not. I'm just trying to cast the net
wider, but while I agree that ordering should be easier I have no say
over how they have the sales process set up. I will pass all these
comments along and see what happens.

This Victor Herbert CD is # SUR0018, and we also were involved with one
entitled 50 Years of the Holtkamp Organ (in the School of Music), which
is also listed in the catalog of the Organ Historical Society. One of
the earliest CDs they did was of the SU Jazz Ensemble from the 70s that
included a title by guest artist Dizzy Gillespie which he never recorded
commercially. Other material, for which we had no involvement, includes
recitals and original rock and ballad-type numbers by students in the
past six or eight years, or so.

Other info will be passed along as I receive it.

Isn't it time your Music Industry Program left the wax age? Shouldn't
there
be a link to a page with the cover, content, etc., a la Amazon, and a
Paypal
payment option? If there is, I'll buy a copy.

It's the business of business to make the purchase as easy as possible.

What else have they published?

A CD of Victor Herbert compositions on cylinder is now available from
Syracuse University. The idea for this release was promoted by Dr.
Philip Carli, who has also done the liner notes for the CD insert, and
Bob Hodge (Belfer engineer) did the audio transfers. The project was
one of the yearly releases managed by SURecords, part of the Music
Industry program at the Setnor School of Music at SU. If you are
interested in obtaining the disc, you may contact the following:
