Re: [ARSCLIST] Fwd: Re: [AMIA-L] Firesign Theatre Looking for recordings of their Work

From the first site listed:
"In the booklet of the Mobile Fidelity CD of DEAR FRIENDS, it says
that there was a 12 hour syndicated version released to radio stations
(on 12 vinyl records, of which only 100 copies were pressed."

That's what I have on LP (8 of the 12 discs). And elsewhere:
"Cassette versions of these are available through Sparks Media,
mentioned elsewhere in this file."

This came across on the Association of Moving Image archivists email list and I thought the ARSC and Ampex list members might be able to help out. I know there are Old-Time-Radio lists and while Firesign Theatre is not Old-Old-Time, it's getting on to forty years old...so if there are other lists out there, please forward. This is a shame that this wasn't saved. I know we can't save everything, but...

For those unfamiliar with Firesign Theatre, I first heard them in 1969 and found their humour and satire amazing--but I only know them through their released recordings.

I was just listening to "Shakespeare's Lost Comedie" the other day.
I love the Firesign Theater so much that I've named all my hard drives after characters from their records.
I had the privilege to see them live on their 25th anniversary tour, and still have my souvenier pickle and brown paper bag to prove it.
Hard to believe that was 15 years ago..
